Capella Science are excited to announce three new OMNI Sonicators OM50, OM100 & OM500 and three new OMNI Centrifuges CF-220, CF-260, and CF-350 designed to complement OMNI’s market leading sample homogenisation solutions. These new OMNI Sonicators & Centrifuges are used in sample and analyte separation, as well as sample sonication applications in cell, protein and genomic analysis, pre-clinical research, microbiology, drug discovery research, biological research, veterinary, food, agriculture and industrial settings.

Ultrasonic cell disruptors or Sonicators are used in homogenisation and lysis of biological, cellular and other laboratory samples in broad applications. These three new OMNI Sonicators are all high frequency 20kHz, positioned for pre-clinical tissue handling as well as complex biological and cellular matrix which include biological and inert materials such as cell cultures, organoids, cell lysis, mixed homogenous etc. The new OMNI OM50 Sonicator® with knob and switch controls, is a compact, cost-effective ultrasonic processor for applications such as nanoparticle dispersion, emulsions, cell disruption and homogenisations with probes available in three sizes. The new OMNI OM100 Sonicator® is a small scale ultrasonic processor. Its features include a pulse mode, timer, programmable up to 10 hours, digital display of wattage and joules which are ideal for cell disruption, DNA/RNA shearing of small samples up to 50mls, offering the same programming and display features as the OMNI OM500 Sonicator®. The new OMNI OM500 Sonicator® is also programmable up to 10 hours and accommodates large volumes. Also like the others in this series, compatible for nanoparticle dispersion, emulsification, cell lysis, homogenisation, particle size reduction, etc. however the OM500 Sonicator® features 500 watts of power, programmable operation, adjustable pulse times from 1sec – 1min, a total run time of up to 10 hours, and accommodates a variety of microtips and probe options. Sound enclosures with converter holders are available for these three new OMNI Sonicators.

The new OMNI non-refrigerated Centrifuges are used for sample separation, analyte extraction, purification and assessment, categorised by speed and different rotor capabilities. The range of applications and rotor options increase according to the number in the series. The new OMNI CF-220 is the most compact in this series with a volume capacity of up to 50mls and is suitable for haematocrit applications. The CF-220 also features seven different fixed rotor options capable of a maximum speed of 15,500rpm/23,100g. The new OMNI CF-260 centrifuge is the most powerful in the series with ten different rotor options including a standard microplate rotor and is ideal research laboratories performing PCR and ELISA’s achieving a maximum speed of 18,000rpm/31,150g. The new OMNI CF-350 is the most versatile in this series also with ten different rotor options which include multi-tube bucket rotors for larger volumes and a deep well plate rotor. The CF-350 stores up to one hundred different programs, features a special drive for quiet operation, and built in error detection to monitor centrifuge operation and has a maximum rotational speed of 15,000rpm/21,630g.

In conclusion, the new OMNI Sonicators and Centrifuges are designed to complement OMNI’s market leading sample homogenisation solutions. The OM50, OM100 and OM500 Sonicators provide tailored features for sample and analyte separation while the CF-220, CF-260, and CF-350 centrifuges offer versatile rotor options and impressive speeds for various laboratory applications.
