CURIOSIS introduces the CPX™-S, a compact automated colony picking system designed for high-throughput workflows, enabling efficient colony isolation for microbial colony screening and supporting a wide range of synthetic biology research while delivering up to 3,000 colonies per hour.

Featuring a fully motorised 96-pin picking head and cross-laser calibration, the system achieves over 99% picking accuracy with consistent and reproducible results. High-resolution imaging enables precise detection of colonies as small as 200µm, supporting accurate early selection. With compatibility across multiple plate formats and seamless integration with automated lab systems, CPX™-S enhances workflow efficiency while minimising laboratory footprint.

CURIOSIS Celloger® CPX™-S Key Features

  • High throughput colony picking up to 3,000 colonies per hour. Precision fully motorised 96-pin actuation enables precise control of each picking pin, allowing the system to adjust depth and position based on colony location and agar height, ensuring accurate and consistent colony transfer
  • High resolution imaging for small colony detection with 100 pixels/mm, enables detection of colonies as small as 200µm, supporting early stage colony identification and reliable selection in microbiology and synthetic biology workflows
  • Cross laser pin calibration enables accurate alignment of each picking pin prior to operation, achieving over 99% picking accuracy, minimising picking errors and supporting reliable, high quality results
  • Versatile source & destination plate compatibility supports a range of source and destination plate formats, including 90mm petri dishes, 128 × 86mm OmniTrays, 96/384 well plates (shallow or deep), and PCR plates, accommodating up to 2 source plates for colony picking and supporting up to 4 destination plates for replicating and re-arraying workflows
