The SY-LAB BacTrac® 4300 is an electric microbiological impedance analyser with two separate temperature zones ranging from 0°C to +55°C. With 64 individual measuring positions per device, BacTrac® 4300 can perform all the tasks typically carried out on the classic agar plate. The system supports fully automatic measurement cycles, and the results are clearly displayed, for decision making in quality control environments. Up to 12 devices, equating to 768 samples, can be managed through the PC based BacWin 2 software, which monitors the signal development for all measurements and the data can be printed, forwarded into any Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

In cases of high bacterial counts, results can often be obtained in just a few hours. Most products can be released after 8 to 12 hours, while measurements confirming the absence of bacteria typically take 14 to 24 hours. The BacTrac® 4300 uses several components of the impedance, namely the medium (M value) and the electrodes (E value), to deliver accurate, stable, and flexible measurements, even in high salt content media. In addition, BacTrac® 4300 is equipped with proprietary high resolution impedance splitting technology, allowing for sensitive and reliable detection of microbes. A wide selection of nutrient media in pre-filled disposable measurement cells enables users to conduct a broad range of tests with ease.
